Azymuth started their individual careers in the 1960s in the emergent bossa nova and jazz scene of Rio, living in the same bohemian block in Copacabana and playing in small bars as session musicians. Keys player and bandleader Jose Roberto Bertrami had invited drummer Ivan Conti 'Mamao' and bassist Alex Malheiros to record with him: their first piece of work together was under the name Group Projeto 3 in 1968.

“Marca Passo” is the latest full-length from Brazilian fusion trio Azymuth. This collector’s blue vinyl edition includes standout tracks like “Fantasy '82”, “Belenzinho”, and “Last Summer in Rio”. Produced by Daniel Maunick, the album bridges Azymuth’s iconic sound with modern production and heartfelt tributes.
